A View Across Lower Wharfedale 

A Memorable Glaciated Valley

Take a walk along Otley Chevin (ancient Celtic word for a ridge or high ground) and the aptly named "Surprise View" will display a magnificent view across the wide glaciated valley that is Lower Wharfedale.

A 600ft escarpment overlooking the market town of Otley which nestles by and around the river Wharfe, this whole are is steeped in history, a roman road still traverses the top of The Chevin a mere two millenia since it was laid between Olicana (Ilkley) and Eburacum (York).
